Description
Primo Wind's EnergiTree torque rotor combines a highly robust yet flexible thermoplastic with a twisted blade shape that uses more drag forces than lift forces. Like a sail on a boat, if the sail has a lot of holes in it, it won’t capture as much wind. Our drag-based torque turbine, like a sail with no holes it, captures wind effectively allowing us to produce more power at realistic wind speeds. For example, at wind speeds of 10 mph, we can generate 400 Watts of power. While we may top out at a certain power production rate, our turbine power curve is geared for the global average wind speed of 12 mph at 32 feet above sea level. To further increase the effectiveness of our patented technology, we combine our advanced turbine technology with photovoltaic cells to make an efficient solution where the intermittency factor is reduced, allowing us to produce power 24/7. On average, wind picks up at night as temperatures drop and so wind energy production is able to keep batteries charged through the night. The systems are completely self-sustaining mobile power solutions and are beneficial for applications like remote mobile connectivity, data transmission, and area security.
