Description

Team Prevailance has identified an application of Real-time Neural Decoding (RND) technology that is especially applicable to US Air Force Pilot Training due to its ability to rapidly decode neurological activity with state-of-the-art accuracy, and to coordinate the decoding with digital content tailoring to maximize memory retention and decrease lesson durations on an individual basis. Air Force pilot training is a lengthy, complex, and costly endeavor, and is at the very core of the Air Force's ability to provide safe, mission-ready combat and support pilots. By its very ‘pipeline’ nature, current pilot training is often focused less on the individual student pilot, and more on the pilot group’s steady completion of the required learning objectives throughout the prescribed training timeline. Team Prevailance proposes to examine the feasibility of integrating Real-time Neural Decoding (RND) into Air Force pilot training to enhance the student pilot's learning and retention of subject matter, to establish a constant real-time feedback loop during training that will allow full adaptation of the scenario to the student, and ultimately to significantly reduce the time required to train student pilots.
