Description

It is required that GPS receivers operate efficiently in hostile jamming environments and in the presence of unintentional interference. A critical component for enabling anti-jam techniques for implementation in GPS receivers is a high performance Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). The ADCs must have high conversion frequencies to support the modernized and future GPS receiver architectures while having a very high resolution to provide the dynamic range required to counter potential jamming and interference threats. RBS Technologies, LLC has developed a technical approach which combines a unique asynchronous N bit ADC with pipelined and oversampling techniques to obtain the required performance objectives. The asynchronous ADC completes an N-bit conversion is one clock cycle with N comparators. The combination of energy efficiency and high conversion frequency makes the ADC an attractive building block for a high performance and high resolution ADC. RBS Technologies will exploit the previous experience of key personnel with designing and fabrication of CMOS Nano-technology ADCs and Anti-jam GPS receivers.
