Description

SI2 Technologies, Inc. (SI2) proposes to mature and transition SI2’s multifunction sensor product. Specifically, SI2 will update the antenna and electronics designs to match the form factor and performance requirements, update the radio firmware to provide the required functionality, and manufacture and test the design within a flight-worthy pod for use with a small attritable aerial platform. The Phase I program concentrated on demonstrating the feasibility of SI2’s SIM technology to manufacture conformal arrays for doubly-curved surfaces, while the previous Phase II effort continued work looking at development of new and cost-effective methods for manufacturing and integrating multifunctional conformal antenna structures for advanced aircraft. In this Phase II program, SI2 proposes to update antenna and electronics designs for operation in an attritable pod, develop and validate firmware to support CONOPS for electronic surveillance, electronic attack, and communications relay functionality on the hardware platform, and verify system operation in an attritable pod, culminating in a full system that is integrated into a flight-worthy pod.
