Description

SI2 Technologies, Inc. (SI2) proposes to design and develop an improved dual-band datalink antenna suite for various BMD platforms. We will leverage our validated Phase II X-band datalink antenna design, as well as our initial S-band datalink antenna design to refine and optimize a form-factor dual-band antenna suite for the guidance section of various BMD platforms. The proposed antenna suite is conformal, extremely low profile and affordable. The advantages of SI2’s antenna include high efficiency, low profile, weight reduction, added X-band capability and low cost. In Phase II, the dual-band datalink antenna suite design will be refined and optimized using state-of-the-art electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools. The performance of the antenna system will be validated through the manufacture and testing of a high fidelity, form factor prototype at an independent government or industry lab. The prototype will be subjected to full RF characterization and environmental testing to critical missile environments, resulting in TRL 6 for the antenna technology.
