Description

This proposal addresses the Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space (PEO M&S) need for an embeddable, extensible, modular, scalable and component-based Common Track Protocol (CTP) Adaptive Translator Module database and software that must account for different ways that track information from multiple Tactical Data Links (TDL) protocols are correlated, recorded and transmitted to end-users across army echelons within the required time necessary, to support Air and Missile Defense (AMD) transformation efforts for the war-fighter. The CTP database must include the creation of a universal common message format and methods to fill in necessary information that is not available from some TDL tracks for transmission to war-fighter networks and/or situational awareness display devices. For the Phase I feasibility study effort, SIMTRS will research, conceptualize, model and trade-off architecture alternatives that satisfies AMD operational requirements with inputs from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders, and develop the architecture and software and database requirements for an embeddable, extensible, modular, scalable and component-based CTP for implementation in Phase II. Our Technical Volume (Volume 2) describes in detail how the Phase I effort will be performed.
