Description
The Air Force (AF) is in the early stages of migrating business and mission applications to the commercial cloud. For applications to function they require access to data; and AF unclassified data can be voluminous, sensitive and mission critical. A number of AF applications have been migrated to the commercial cloud by SSSC and other contractors; however, the application migrations have been pathfinders with limited resource sharing. In addition, applications that rely on data external from the AF network have assembled a patchwork of data ingest solutions that are not secure and may not meet enterprise Information Assurance (IA) requirements. The AF has a requirement for an enterprise solution for data ingest and landing in the commercial cloud that can be deployed in an automated fashion with known security and IA pedigree. SSSC will leverage a secure PaaS offering to develop an enterprise solution for secure data ingest for DoD data centers in the AWS Government Cloud (GovCloud). This secure data ingest and landing zone offering will facilitate enterprise migration and Government data center consolidation.
