Description
SpaceWorks proposes to adapt its existing RED-Data2 and RED-4U reentry capsules to be “sharper� and more capable of supporting high heat rate flight testing for new thermal protection (TPS) materials. The proposed RED-2U configuration will enable TPS materials research in actual hypersonic flight at elevated heat rates and heat loads. RED-2U will be recoverable on land to allow post-mission inspect of the TPS samples.
