Description
In this Phase I program, Spectral Labs, Inc. (SLI) will establish the benefits of adapting existing C-130H Operations and Maintenance training material to an interactive, web-based game environment. The ability to deploy full 3D gaming environments via web browser has developed rapidly, but until recently there have been technical limitations, such as internet bandwidth, graphical performance, and plugin installation. The Unity game engine, advancements in browser technology, and increased internet bandwidth have greatly reduced these limitations. SLI has significant experience developing complete interactive educational software that is optimized for web browser deployment, and thus is well-positioned to successfully complete this project. SLI has been developing training simulations since 2009 for Federal governments, Universities, and other Commercial entities, each requiring a tailored approach that reflects the anticipated user-base, and collaboration with SMEs. Partnering with Lockheed Martin will allow SLI to access the necessary training content and SMEs to complete the project on a short time scale, and will increase access to potential USAF customers and stakeholders. Future phases will integrate VR/AR/MR features in conjunction with the latest developments by Lockheed Martin. The connection between these technologies and realistic web-based training will be called the Realistic Adaptive Virtual Education Nexus, or RAVEN.
