Description
Despite free health care, free condoms and free STD screenings, military personnel continue to have significantly higher STD rates than the civilian population. A 2018 MSMR report found that enlisted personnel have 3 to 6 times higher STD rates than the civilian population. The MSMR report also found women in the military are disproportionately affected, with rates 5 to 7 times greater than women of the same age in the general population.
