Description
The logistics of the deployment of a military force, and the maintenance of military facilities, requires material handling equipment that is ready for rapid deployment, robust, reliable, efficient and safe to operate with minimal training, while addressing multiple uses to support the warfighter. Superior Handling Equipment has developed a unique, patented, cantilever lift platform – both fixed and mobile – that provides a user with the ability to perform the loading/unloading of aircraft and vehicles (e.g. closed trucks), support medical patient loading and alleviate the manual lifting of materials plus movement of hazardous materials in the absence of any supporting infrastructure. The platform also operates as a temporary loading dock during maintenance operations or failures of existing loading dock facilities, having been recently used in hurricane disaster response in Puerto Rico. This technology can, with modification, be suitable for application on military bases and in supporting field operations. This proposal is submitted for the purpose of developing the configuration, or configurations, that specifically address Air Force and DoD requirements through consultation with the Subject Matter Experts responsible for the day-to-day material handling logistics, leading to a safer and more efficient operation, both in terms of time and manpower required.
