Description
The USAF requires the capability to more effectively calibrate Ferrite Phase Shifters operating on X-Band Electronically Scanned Antennas. The Ferrite Phase Shifters require a significant amount of time to compare performance over temperature and frequency. To achieve a faster calibration, we propose the use of the Knowledge Aided Calibration Tool (KACT) that leverages existing calibration data, knowledge of ferrite phase shifter sensitivities, and measurement optimization to reduce the calibration time periods. By leveraging this knowledge, the time to calibrate will be reduced through optimal methods that converge to a solution at faster rates than blind-sampling methods currently used.
