Description
Toyon Research Corporation proposes Medgistic, an Android application for medical supply chain management, to support Role 1 medical providers and logisticians under volatile networks. Medgistic is designed to allow fault-tolerant ordering of supplies, even under intermittent connections and node dropouts. Medgistic can improve connectivity further by using mobile communication protocols, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC. Toyon’s solution improves network robustness by allowing P2P communication and intelligent store and forwarding capabilities. Toyon has significant experience with distributed mobile computing, and will develop reliable algorithms that can be proven in reproducible network simulations that include intermittent connections and node dropouts. Medgistic will support end-to-end (E2E) encryption using government approved encryption algorithms to support the transmission of sensitive data. Medgistic is designed to run with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and have user friendly user interfaces that can provide tailor information to the users’ role. At the end of the Phase I effort, Toyon will have developed a prototype medical supply application that has significant military and civilian applications for global supply chain management in many industries.
