Description
Triton Systems proposes to develop and demonstrate improved precursors to SiC with increased ceramic yield and lower crystallization temperatures based on the precise addition of selected precursors. We will formulate these additives with a commercial precursor to SiC and demonstrate that they both increase yield and reduce SiC crystallization temperature through an iterative process of testing and refinement. Testing will include thermal gravimetric and calorimetry to 1500 °C and furnace pyrolysis with assessment of yield and X-ray analysis for phase formed and crystallite size estimation.
