Description
Vadum has demonstrated the Optimal Advanced Hypervelocity Projectile (HVP) Trajectory System (OATHS) which increases the performance of the HVP by optimizing HVP trajectory to its target. OATHS was prototyped and tested using an in-house MATLAB-based combat system development environment. The results of Phase I testing show that OATHS can feasibly increase HVP probability of kill or reduce the total control effort required to achieve a level of probability of kill. The Phase II OATHS effort will mature OATHS by improving performance and testing in high-fidelity environments. Vadum will test OATHS against tactically relevant threat representations and transition from the development environment into high-fidelity tactical testing environments. The Phase II testing program will support further development and show that OATHS is sufficiently mature for integration into the Gun Weapon System battle management elements in Phase III.
