Mixed reality is evolving and advancing technology that precipitates fundamental change in the way humans learn and process information. The Air Force suffers from a shortage of pilots, maintainers and critically valuable Airmen, a challenge complicated by increasingly sophisticated weapons systems and steep learning curves for inexperienced maintainers. To effectively employ these advanced weapons and enhance operational readiness, the Air Force needs to accelerate learning. The ACE platform connects spatially aligned digital content to Airmen at the point of need via a range of handheld and wearable devices while data capture and analytics drive process improvement. Our Remote Expert capability enables “reach-backâ€Â communication with seasoned experts for feedback and guidance while performing complex tasks. The ACE platform has increased productivity in the manufacturing and energy industries, making it a low-risk, proven solution. In Phase II, Vectrona will adapt our commercial solution to Air Force needs with a focused test-case on pilots and weapons specialists. A trial study will quantitatively prove needed return on investment through resource optimization and skills enhancement. ACE is a scalable, force-wide solution that enhances training, improves knowledge retention and productivity, reduces errors and prevents mishaps resulting in a more highly qualified force and superior warfighting readiness.
