Description

Professional and collegiate sports teams across the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, MLS, and NCAA are recognizing the power of applying science and proven, next-generation, human performance analytics to uncover trends, develop insights, reduce risk, and maximize readiness. Industry leader CoachMePlus provides a platform for customized training and monitoring programs that push these athletes to their absolute best performance, while curtailing chronic overuse and stress-related injuries. Air Force and the broader DoD face many of the same challenges as in professional sport with respect to optimizing human performance, promoting readiness, and preventing burnout and/or injury. Within military environments, 90% of musculoskeletal injuries (MKSI) are related to physical training or sports, and 80% of MKSI are considered overuse in nature. 34% of deployed troops experience non-combat MKSI. Last year, Secretary of the Army Mark Esper cited that the Amy has over 100,000 Soldiers on non-deployable status and that this large non-deployable group is “hurting Army readiness. Any meaningful reduction in these statistics will not only be a boon to force readiness but will lead to reductions in the staggering costs associated with non-deployable servicemembers.
