Description

Our objective is to develop and demonstrate an integrated capability to perform dynamic retasking of enterprise wide management of OPIR, radar, and other operationally relevant sensors. The goals of this effort are to refine our existing OPIR tasking approach and to develop and Enterprise SRM approach that will allow the C2BMC to achieve the earliest possible launch detection and maintain the highest quality tracks throughout the entire missile flight through the use of a near-optimally scheduled OPIR sensor constellation, ground and sea based radars, and any other relevant sensors. After initial launch detection, there is a need to track all in-flight missiles which will entail different requirements for missile state estimates for location and classification depending upon the current trajectory phase (boost, ascent, midcourse, or terminal). We will accomplish this by automating the solution of the enterprise wide scheduling problem through the use of automated information needs generations and schedule optimization using a Lagrangian relaxation technique. This scheduling approach allows for the ability to dynamically re-task all of the C2BMC sensors based upon collected data. Based upon our end-to-end testbed, trade studies will be performed to assess feasibility and performance of our approach.Approved for Public Release | 17-MDA-9395(24 Oct 17)
