We propose in this proposal to complete the developmentvalidation and pursuing appropriate regulatory approvals or waivers for a RABV One Step RT PCR test kit commercializationThis rabies testing kit is planned to be developed as a user friendlyrapidand specific assay with the targeting sample types including salivaeyewashesand skin biopsiesThe kits are intended to be used for rabies transmission controlthat combines following innovative componentsa simple and user friendly assay that uses a unique one step approach for RT PCR assaya dried bead format assay mixture formation with relevant sensitivity and specificityand a systematic way to control the quality of the final mixture productionThe new RABV one step RT PCR kit will consist of a mixture of all reagentswhich saves time from multiple pipetting and reduces the risk of contaminationFigureThis will also fulfill the acute need for an accurate rabies screening testThis RABV one step RT PCR assay will also be useful to all stakeholders involved in public health managementclinical researchand rabies monitoring from central facilities and laboratories to the field
