Description
Fosmo Med Lactate Ringer’s Solution (FMLRS) isasolutions bagthat is shipped around the world sans waterand can befilled with local water to createsterilelactated ringer’s solution within the bag withoutexternal power requirement. The primaryadvantage ofFMLRS is significant reduction of overall logistical cost sincethesolution is98% waterand accounts for themajority of theshippingcosts,which can bereduced 75% or more. Additionally,with over85% reduction in volume,critical storagespacecan besignificantly less.Fosmo Med hascurrently worked on 0.9% salinesolution for the disaster reliefmarketand is ready for theFDA phase. This PhaseI project will include development ofa prototype based on our salinesolution bag design and materials while demonstratingtheefficient reconstitution ofFMLRSmeets theFDA’s standards foradministration. The primary commercial market for theFMLRSwould befor disaster reliefefforts,wherethe“last mile” problem of deliveringthiscritical life-saving product is problematicwith thecurrent solution. This technology can be used to create not only salineand FMLRS, but other solutionscan becreated at thespot ofcareso livescan besaved.
