Description
The overall goal for this effort is to develop a harsh military environment, low-latency optical transponder for integration into rotary aircraft optical networks. The transponder must be able to accept signals from a wide variety of legacy systems and transport these with <0.1mS (<5µs target) latency at high data rates (up to 12.5 Gb/s). To provide a future-proof, high capacity solution, the transmitters and receivers will be compatible with a wavelength switched dense WDM optical networking environment to provide the highest capacity and provide the highest overhead to avoid congestion.
