Description
To address the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)s need for KWD-ML-4-115AL alternative supply sources, Intellisense Systems, Inc. (ISI) proposes to develop a new Reverse Engineering and Manufacturing of Alternative Display Equipment (RE-MADE) process specifically to reverse engineer (RE) the KWD-ML-4-115AL display to improve product availability and increase competition. The proposed RE process is based on a unique combination of technical approaches and quality-derived processes to achieve a form-fit-function replication. Specifically, the innovation in utilizing new components and techniques to functionally replicate the KWD-ML-4-115AL and use of modern RE measurement and software tools to validate form-fit ensures that ISIs technical data package (TDP) will provide DLA with form-fit-function replacement of the KWD-ML-4-115AL for future procurement. As a result, this process addresses the need for the KWD-ML-4-115AL replacement and enables ISI to participate as an approved source, which directly addresses the DLAs requirements. In Phase I, ISI plans to submit a complete Source Approval Request package and make measurable progress toward preparing a TDP. In Phase II, ISI will complete Engineering Support Activity necessary to provide a full and final TDP and prepare plans to manufacture the replacement as an approved source for DLA, leading to Phase III procurement of the parts.
