Description
Mainstream proposes to develop an innovative sealing system for remotely piloted vehicles.During the Phase I effort, Mainstream will fabricate and experimentally demonstrate the sealing system, and compare the results with a baseline engine. The development of the sealing system will be generated based on the proposed architecture, and a complete prototype will be designed, fabricated, and tested during the Phase I effort to verify system performance prior to a Phase II.The Phase I program is significant because it enables demonstration of all critical components prior to a following effort, thereby reducing technical and schedule risk. During a Phase II program, Mainstream will continue the development of the overall monitoring system and deliver prototypes systems for installation into an actual RPA system for experimental demonstration, and will result in a TRL of 8 at the end of Phase II.
