Description

Aging military infrastructure is constantly in the need of replacement and upgrades. Competent and qualified domestic producers of these mission vital items are becoming increasingly scarce leading to fewer sources and less competition in the marketplace. To ensure that warfighters are properly equipped to perform their missions it is critical to have a reliable and sustainable supplier base with adequate competition to deliver the best value possible to the government. Mentis Sciences Inc. (Mentis) proposes to reverse engineer and create a technical data package used for manufacturing development for the component NSN 5985-01-519-6245 (antenna adapter assembly), as well as develop a streamlined, low-cost, reverse engineering process which can be leveraged for similar NSN assemblies in the RPPOB Program. The goal of the proposed work is to create a technical data package (TDP) that will include all geometry/dimensional characteristics, material specification, finishing, and inspection requirements. In addition to creating the TDP for this assembly Mentis also seeks to improve upon and demonstrate our reverse engineering, documentation, manufacturing, and supply chain competencies for future reverse engineering and production efforts.
