Description
TOGETHER is a mobile application on a smart software system that informal caregivers will use to develop and implement home-based care for cancer survivors. It will help alleviate the cancer caregiving burden and facilitate communication with patients' healthcare teams by centering the conversation around a care plan. The goal of this Fast-Track project is to develop and validate a final TOGETHER pilot mobile app in preparation for commercialization. The overall objective of Phase II is to develop, test and validate a functional TOGETHER pilot mobile app and develop technical and user support training modules and documentation for commercialization. The Technical Objectives are to: 1) establish the project team; 2) evaluate IT customization requirements and HIPAA compliance, security, and privacy protocols; 3) develop prototype into pilot and conduct beta and usability testing among stakeholders; 4) enhance interoperability and test integration into health system(s); 5) develop user support documentation for stakeholders; and 6) present tutorial session at NCI. The ultimate aim is to provide a product that promotes engagement of all stakeholders to plan for care through an integrated and dynamic care plan with resources and communication pathways for care at any stage in the cancer or other disease continuums.
