Description

Nanohmics designed and will fabricate a ruggedized Blood and Pharmaceutical Cooling and Storage system (BPCS) that meets current and future performance requirements for temperature selection and energy efficiency using several building block technologies that outperform the design of the currently used portable refrigeration system. This is accomplished by employing a refrigeration technology that is capable of holding a user selectable internal temperature from -25C to 25C as well as having multiple temperature controlled zones held at different temperatures.A portable, rugged, refrigeration system with multiple zones and user selectable temperature range will have many benefits to both civilian and military medical practitioners. The ability to be configured to hold temperatures ranging from -25 degrees Celsius to above room temperature will allow a single unit to fulfill multiple roles, from deep freezer to incubator, and will lower the logistical burden for supplying forward medical outposts and those responding to disasters in remote locations. Additionally this unit will be able to power itself for up to 24 hours in the event of a power interruption.Together these features will enable the use of life saving products such as fresh frozen plasma and the effective storage of tissue samples for further analysis.
