Description
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) seeks improved product availability through increased competition for certain in particular for National Stock Numbers (NSN) with an annual demand of > $10,000 and fewer than two manufacturers.During Phase I, NanoSonic identified a need to investigate materials technology for improved canopy seal designs per DLA's sourcing goals. Current inflatable seals used in high altitude reconnaissance aircraft are required to provide airtight sealing of several areas, including the cockpit, and must have conductive properties in order to serve a secondary purpose as electro-magnetic interference gaskets. During Phase II of this program, NanoSonic proposes to establish a canopy seal technical drawing suitable for production, qualification testing, and DLA sourcing to result in viable canopy seal designs for multiple aircraft.NanoSonic is being considered as an alternate supplier due to a history of expertise in the production of high performance conductive and reinforced seal materials for extremely harsh environments and documented timely delivery of >8,000 certified parts to customers to date.NanoSonic offers a suite of conductive, reinforced, and self-healing seals for Space, Nuclear, and Aeronautics Platforms in support of DLA's mission to sustain warfighter readiness and lethality by delivering proactive global logistics in peace and war.
