Description
We will extend development of the advanced signal processing algorithm<br>Material Identification Reflectivity Kernel (MIRK) with the aim of<br>transitioning it to the ARCI AxB program and integration into the AN/SQS-53C<br>Active Hull Mounted Sonar System. Prometheus will develop appropriate<br>system-specific compensation algorithms, decision architecture and processing<br>stream computer code to integrate MIRK into the AN/SQS-53C. MIRK will be<br>incorporated into existing software. No hardware changes in the AN/SQS-53C<br>ARCI sonar system are envisioned, thus providing a highly cost effective<br>approach for deploying the MIRK performance improvement. Based on the use of<br>MIRK with other sonar signal processing, our goal is a 25% or greater<br>reduction in false alarms with no loss of true targets.
