Description

San Diego Composites, Inc. (SDC) will provide the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) qualified environmentally stable composite (ESC) replacement parts as an alternative source of supply for the parts on the DLA published Land and Maritime Replenishment Parts Purchase or Borrow and Limited Source Candidate Parts lists. SDCs ESC parts can be produced up to 75% faster, require up to 98% less preventative maintenance, and have up to 10 times lower life-cycle costs than some of the existing metal parts that SDC is proposing to replace. SDC is an AS 9100 certified, OEM approved supplier of defense hardware, are experts in defense part manufacture, and have a 70,000 sq.ft. production facility already housing the necessary equipment to produce the replacement parts. SDC and the ESC process provide DLA with a low cost, mature supply base alternative supplier of parts with improved capability and reduced life time costs. SDC identified 60 potential candidate parts on the RPPOB and Limited Source lists. The 60 potential candidate parts have an annual demand quantity of nearly 50,000 parts and annual demand value of more than $4M dollars. The broad applicability of the ESC technology makes it disruptive to DLAs logistical approach.
