Description

There is currently an incomplete understanding of how internal and external factors influence team performance over time. Stottler Henke, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University (JHU), proposes to explore how the social context factors of a team shape the ability of the team and its members to effectively deal with acute and chronic stressors. We seek to improve upon the current state of the art in three ways. First, we will implement novel techniques to extract team-level social context factors from sensor-based and sociometric data streams. Second, we will assess the viability of those factors in shaping a team’s ability to maintain a high level of performance in the face of multiple acute and chronic stressors. Last, we will identify a complement of individual- and team-level factors that allows for robust and reliable assessment of a team’s collective allostatic load.
