Description
Pain is a serious and widespread problem over the short-term for wounded military personnel in the battlefield and over the long-term for veterans. Military pain management strategies for acute and chronic pain are increasingly multimodal, combining pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions. Timely management of acute pain improves the outcomes both in the short- and long-term and prevents further physical and psychological complications. Triton Systems proposes to develop a compact, portable high voltage nanosecond electric pulse (nsEP) pain inhibition device for localized pain relief after injury in the battlefield. Our device design will allow for rapid, localized pain relief by quick attachment to an injured extremity by a combat medic.
