Description
Incidents of unmanned aerial systesm (UAS) illegally operating in the restricted airspace around wildfires has been on the rise. The popularity of UAS is growing rapidly, and the threat to firefighters, public safety, and property is increasing. A rapidly deployable and reconfigurable solution that works in all types of terrain and under extreme conditions is needed to help authorities identify and halt unauthorized UAS operations around wildfires. The Mobile Emergency Perimeter Systems (MEPS) senses radio frequency (RF) signals between the controller and the UAS and determines the location of the UAS Operator, allowing authorities to find the violator and allow air operations to resume.
