Description
Proper target classification, ranging, and orientation can be a very challenging task for a submarine periscope operator.Manual methods are prone to error, and coordination with the fire control system for computerized solution still place a significant burden on the operator.The Pericles algorithm will serve to mitigate these problems by providing automatic classification, range, and angle-on-the-bow calls from periscope imagery with absolutely no additional burden on the operator.
