Description

This proposal addresses the algorithms and processing necessary to use imaging IR sensors for RCMA/UAS (Remote Controlled Model Aircraft / Unmanned Aerial Systems) detection on ground vehicles while stationary and while on-the-move. It also address how the algorithms may be included in a larger architecture, already under development, that includes other sensing modalities as well as threat counters. Key aspects of the effort include: DA robust image processing detection algorithm for On-The-Move IR image sequences, a motion-compensation process that combines IMU measurements and image-sensed motion, a detection tracking process for both stationary and on-the-move operation, a statistical discrimination process for distinguishing clutter detections from true targets, a context evaluation scheme for evaluating detections based on spatial/temporal correlation to other detections, and an in-line, self-evaluation of performance.
