Description
Multispectral long range imaging with detection and classification can satisfy the requirement for this topic. Conventional approaches using this method have required expensive, bulky optics, and computer resources that were greedy in speed and memory and power. Recent advances is compressive sensing and compressive processing have resulted in the ability to use the inherent ability of compressive detectors to under-sample to great advantage to reducing detector bulk, cost and data processing. In this proposal the simplicity of the single pixel imaging camera is exploited to provide a simple and robust multispectral operation directly on the compressed data through compressive processing. This results in not only a simple multi-spectral camera design, but also highly optimized compressive detection and classification techniques can be used directly on the compressed data set. It proposed that Busek design a single pixel camera that has the ability to image passively in the visible, NIR, and Far IR wavelength. It is also to perform as a ranging camera in the near IR using LIDAR. The system proposed by Busek will result simpler yet more effective method of passive target identification and classification using these techniques.
