Description

Access control for various components of missile systems data is a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-scale problem for large distributed components that make up the modern missile control system framework. Current access controls capabilities are based primarily on profiles and roles, are time consuming, cannot dynamically and efficiently evaluate an operator’s need-to-know, and are vulnerable to cybersecurity threats. The objective of this subsequent SBIR Phase II project is to develop and integrate an Automated Dynamic Access Control (ADAC) capability for missile and fire control systems’ operational and engagement environment that uses dynamic semantics analysis of missile systems data to ensure access based on need-to-know and logical proximity. The access control capabilities will include examining the geolocation, timeliness, organizational and operational aspects with an extensible framework for including other proximity-based assessment capabilities. The output of this system will not simply be a grant or deny access but a quantifiable and visual assessment of the semantic proximity between components in a missile system. The base methodologies for this process were created under Air Force SBIR Phase II project. The proposed effort will adapt and integrate ADAC technology into missile systems and demonstrate resulting access control engines with existing missile and fire control capabilities
