Description
CRG, partnered with the University of Cincinnati (UC), proposes to develop, demonstrate, and deliver drop-in replacement, advanced propulsors and lower units for DoD multi-fuel outboard engines. Optimized to eliminate cavitation, minimize vibration, minimize weight, and maximize efficiency, the propulsors will extend DoD small craft range and endurance, increase speed, and enhance mission capability. Mark G. Turner at UC brings extensive expertise in turbomachinery design and optimization, three-dimensional (3D) blade geometry generation approaches, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD), all necessary capabilities for generating advanced hydrodynamic geometry for new propulsors. CRG brings expertise in structural design and optimization, composites design, vibrations analysis, systems integration, prototyping, testing, and demonstration. Together, CRG and UC are capable of designing and demonstrating advanced propulsor concepts for the Navy.
