Description
ABSTRACT: DZYNE Technologies, Inc., proposes a Phase II SBIR effort to continue development of MONARCH, a Mobile Onboard Nexus for Autonomy and Radical Computation Handling. MONARCH shall provide an elastic, embedded computing capability for hosting operationally-relevant classes of software applications onboard manned and unmanned systems through the interoperation of distributed, networked computing nodes. DZYNEs long-term objectives for MONARCH include migration into an ultra-deeply embedded implementation that can be hosted onboard a platform with nearly zero impact to available Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP). DZYNE has teamed with Management Sciences, Inc., (MSI) to help realize this objective through utilization of MSIs Embeddable Programmable Instrumentation Controller (EPIC) modules as an implementation medium for MONARCH. This will provide an ultra-low SWaP ability to responsibly liberate onboard data in a secure manner for onboard processing with approved Apps that are hosted within a distributed application fabric that lives in the physical space between connector terminals and the wires they support. To reach this end-state, MONARCH technology must evolve to a point where guarantees can be made regarding its stability, scalability, ease of use, and handling of secure data. The proposed Phase II effort addresses all of these needs. BENEFIT: Development of MONARCH will open an era of conformal computing that enables unmanned systems to perform demanding missions.
