Description
The overall objective of this project is to develop an integrated, rugged, inexpensive cavity stabilized semiconductor laser which is based on typical telecommunications grade DFB or DBR semiconductor lasers for sonar applications. The approach is to take a cavity stabilized laser architecture that currently fits in a standard 19-inch rack and fit it into a standard telecoms grade 14-pin butterfly type package. To achieve this, a miniaturized version of a stabilized cavity will be developed that is suited for integration in such package in robustness, cost and form factor.
