Description
GasTOPS will further improve ChipCHECK through modifications beneficial to the USAF Oil Analysis Program (OAP) to include meeting the performance objectives for Analytical Chip Debris Classification (ACDC) identified in FA8650-17-C-2007 Attachment 1, Statement of Objectives. USAF’s specified alloy identification library will be created as well as desired interfaces to enable user-friendly system operation suitable for field-level operational use. ChipCHECK’s ACDC capability is enabled by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) a departure from SEM-EDX which is currently used to fulfill the USAF’s ACDC requirements. Bench and field testing will be planned and conducted to prove ChipCHECK’s ability to functionally replace current systems.
