Description
For a successful mission, the planning of the route based on communication link availability is important. The communication links are used to support functions of command and control, communication, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). The RF link performance depends on distance between transmitter and receiver, frequency, antenna, propagation channel and also the communication scheme. In this effort, IAI proposes the development of a Communication and RF Analysis Tool (CaRAT) to predict RF link availability based on antenna patterns, aircraft orientation and other factors that impact link availability. This software will include a graphical user interface that will enable the user to configure parameters and visualize the results.
