Description
DoD has been leveraging commercial cloud technologies in its enterprise cloud environment to accelerate IT delivery, efficiency and innovation. This process has been rapidly accelerated with the maturing of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). However, while commercial cloud services offer great potential for rapidly consolidating IT infrastructure in DoD, adopting them at the tactical edge face the following significant challenges: 1) offline service delivery at the tactical edge when the CONUS based cloud services are not available; 2) data synchronization in Disconnected, Intermittent, and Limited (DIL) environments; and 3) stringent security requirements. To address these issues, IAI proposes to develop a Secure and Intelligent Data Synchronization (SIDS) system to provide cloud services delivery to edge users operating in the DIL environment. By providing the cloud support to the edge users, SIDS will enable the reliable and secure access to the information capture, storage, and presentation, which reduces the disruption time and increases the system availability even in dynamic networking environment.
