Description
In this SBIR Phase II proposal, Kent Optronics Inc proposes to develop and deliver a compressive multispectral and hyperspectral sensor (CMHS) with spatially and spectrally foveal capabilities for multiple military missions. The sensor is also enabled with optical zooming capability without involving optical component movement. The sensor performs both multispectral (MS) and hyperspectral (HS) sensing over a wide fields of view and yet with regions of interests (ROI) for target detection and identification. The multispectral sensing is for wide area situational awareness and target tracking; while hyperspectral sensing for target recognition/identification. The sensor exhibits the following key remarkable features:Flexible switching between MS and HS sensing modes under user desire, from a single sensor system;Zoomable field of view (FOV) of 20o (threshold), > 60o (objective)Fast sampling rate and imagery display refresh at video rate or greater;Reduced data volume and data transmission bandwidth;Spatial and spectral fovea driven by the detection result(s);Small foot-print profile in size, weight, power consumption, and cost (SwaPC).
