Description

Metamagnetics proposes a powerful new solution to the co-site interference mitigation problem based on its versatile Frequency Selective Limiter (FSL) technology. Operations in an increasingly congested electromagnetic spectrum, constantly intensifying demand for data at the tactical edge, and the diminishing extent of electromagnetic spectrum provisioned for the military has resulted in the need for advanced technologies to mitigate Global Positioning System (GPS) interference due to co-site interference with C4ISR . Metamagnetics FSL technology has the potential to provide the Army with a powerful innovative interference mitigation tool that is much needed on the battlefield. Unlike other common approaches such as tunable filter banks, antenna radiation pattern adjustment and signal diversity, the FSL is a completely passive high power RF signal processing tool. Current SOA methods fall short in that they require copious extra components to sense and tune the electronics to mitigate the interference, or they rely on geometry and position of antenna elements, which can be difficult to maintain while moving and is cumbersome. The FSL is a compact passive device that can be placed in the RF front end to protect sensitive downstream components without compromising or taking away from the overall system performance.
