Description
MORSE Corp proposes phase II of the Parachute Olefin-polysulfone Obfuscating Film (POOF) airdrop concept. POOF nominally consists of a canopy constructed of transparent olefin polysulfone films that depolymerize into a benign gas when raised above a tunable transition temperature. The film’s depolymerization will be triggered by Joule heating, with a secondary transience mechanism utilizing photo initiators sensitive to visible light. This material approach to the reduction in parachute visual and physical signature can be applied to round chutes as well as ram air parafoils.
