Description
Propagation of high-energy short-pulse laser light through the atmosphere must contend with not only the phase aberrations induced by atmospheric turbulence, but also a cadre of nonlinear phenomena that can reduce the efficacy of light delivery to a target. During this effort, we are investigating several adaptive optics designs that should improve the compensation of distributed aberrations in the atmosphere to facilitate delivery of short-pulse high-energy light to a target at range.
