Description
Nanohmics proposes creating a ruggedized biologics refrigerator that meets future Navy performance requirements for temperature selectability and efficiency. This unit will employ several building block technologies that have outpaced the design of the currently used portable refrigeration system. This will be done employing next generation vacuum insulation panels and a refrigeration technology that is capable of holding a user selectable internal temperature that ranges from -25 to +25 degrees Celsius. This feature will reduce the logistical burden on forward medical stations by allowing for one type of refrigerator to fulfill multiple roles from deep freezer to incubator. Additionally this unit will be able to power itself for up to several days in the event of a power interruption. Together these features will enable the use of life saving products such as fresh frozen plasma and be able to effectively store tissue samples for further analysis.
