Description
For dynamic protection of LWIR sensors from laser dazzler threats, Nanohmics, Inc., proposes to develop a thin, light-weight, high-transmittance, electrically tunable notch filter based on microfabricated metasurfaces. One or more 200 nm filter notches can be electrically activated and tuned to reject >90% of incident threats. The metasurfaces comprise an engineered array of resonant microstructures that leverage standard materials and microfabrication techniques to reduce cost and provide a rapid route to commercialization. The high-rejection filter prototype is thermally engineered to operate properly for optical power up to 80mW/sq.cm. The thin (
