Description
Bolometer arrays are biased and read out row-by-row, which is performance limiting as array format grows. Nu-Treks digital bolometer features a digital pixel and alternative architecture that enables full frame integration and read out, low noise, large formats, and fast frame rates. The enabling innovation is a mixed mode readout integrated circuit (ROIC) architecture, implemented by 3D wafer integration. A key element of our commercialization strategy is the exploitation of expanded dual use opportunities which will be enhanced through the cost/performance attributes of our unique digital ROIC and the FPAs produced. The performance improvements will further open the application space for uncooled sensors. Nu-Trek will identify transition partners that will assure this enabling technology is made available for both commercial as well as military applications. The further development of uncooled FPAs through the development of this digital ROIC will expand the use of IR uncooled FPAs in key military as well as commercial markets. Targeted military markets due to the SWAP advantages of uncooled FPAs, will be for persistent surveillance applications, especially for small miniaturized drones, distributed aperture sensors and high definition sensors. Targeted commercial applications will be for surveillance and security installations.
