Description
The goal of this contract is to develop sniper, machine gun, and carbine variant lightweight cased intermediate caliber rounds of ammunition that will provide an overmatch against all current 7.62mm and below military calibers used by opposing forces. The innovative variant caliber rounds developed under this SBIR effort also anticipate reducing the weight of the Unites States used AA11 7.62 sniper variant ammunition round by 20 to 35 percent and anticipates reducing the weight of the A130 machine gun and carbine variants by 20 to 30 percent, while providing equal or better accuracy.
